Description

This constantly revised class examines new residential construction products in electrical, heating, cooling, foundations, framing, insulation, ventilation, roofing and plumbing. Some of these products are truly new technologies, developed in response to recent code changes and/or safety issues. Many of these are a response to rising energy costs and environmental demands. A few of them are not really “new” at all, having been unsuccessfully introduced many years ago and now “repackaged” for the 21st century. All products presented in the session are accepted by the appropriate national model codes, such as the International Residential Code and the National Electric Code. Many are being produced by relatively unknown companies, but some are being sold by big players such as Dow Chemical. The driving forces behind the development of each new product as well as specifically what the home inspector needs to know about each of these are discussed in detail.

Hours: 4 mandatory CE hours
